Togo Expeditions, Coming 2026
A new route through the West African country most travellers pass without stopping.
Why Togo, and why now
A country we have been studying for years
Between Ghana and Benin lies a sliver of West Africa most travellers pass through without stopping. Togo’s voodoo heritage in the Mono River basin, Lome’s beach markets and German colonial heart, the Akposso highlands above the weaving villages of Kpalime, all of it sits within a country narrow enough to drive from coast to highlands in a single morning.
We are crafting Togo itineraries with the same care we give Ghana and Benin: small groups, the right local guides, evenings that go past sunset, mornings that start before the markets fill. Not a checklist tour. A real route through a country that rewards the people who slow down for it.
Voodoo on the Mono River
The shared spiritual heartland that links southern Togo to our Benin Voodoo Festival route, with ceremonies and elders who rarely meet outsiders.
Lome, coast and colonial heart
The capital’s beach markets, German colonial bones and the Grand Marche, walked with guides who grew up on these streets.
Kpalime and the Akposso highlands
Cool forest mornings, weaving and woodcarving workshops, and the hike to Mount Agou, the highest point in the country.
