Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Accra
Arrive in Accra, where you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, explore James Town, Accra’s historic neighborhood, and then visit Makola Market, the largest open-air market in Ghana. The remainder of the day is free for relaxation.
Overnight at Lancaster Accra Hotel
Day 2: Accra to Cape Coast & Elmina
After breakfast, head south to Cape Coast, stopping to visit Independence Square, home to the African Liberation Flame, lit by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in 1961. Explore the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, a tribute to Ghana’s first president, with exhibits detailing his life and legacy. Continue to Cape Coast for lunch, followed by a visit to Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its role in the transatlantic slave trade. This evening, enjoy a guided tour of Elmina’s harbor, where the vibrant fishing community prepares for the night’s catch.

Day 3: Elmina – Kakum National Park – Accra
After breakfast, visit Kakum National Park, known for its diverse wildlife and breathtaking canopy walk, which offers a unique view of the forest from over 150 feet above the ground. Take a walking tour on the forest floor, spotting colorful birds, butterflies, and perhaps monkeys or elephants. In the afternoon, return to Accra for a leisure evening or airport transfer for your onward flight.
